The Linden Trio
John Sutherland Earle, piano
Erin Ryan, violin
Irina Desmond, cello
From Ravel to Piazzolla,
in Threes!
The Linden Trio formed locally from one local (Erin) and two immigrants from distant places (Irina from Uzbekistan and John was born in Chile to parents from Mexico and Canada). The group is named for the tree in John’s front yard, which he planted with inspiration from the Schubert Lied “Der Lindenbaum” from Winterreise (its rustling branches called out to the lonely, weary wanderer “Come to me, my friend! Here you will find rest!”)
PROGRAM
“Oblivion” for piano trio by Piazzola
“Rondo” in G minor for cello and piano by Dvorak
Consolation for cello and piano by Glinka
Piano Trio in A minor by Ravel
