Susie and her former student, Neil are delighted to have the opportunity to share some of their favorite Scottish tunes on fiddle and piano. They will introduce their selections, thus providing the audience a wealth of context and background of Scotland’s rich musical heritage.

Susie was first exposed to Scottish music through country dancing as a high school student in Montgomery Country, MD. She earned her degree in piano performance at the Peabody Conservatory and has gone on to play and teach music and dance for the last 40+ years. She was a guest lecturer at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire in Glasgow and has performed for dances, parties, concerts in the USA, Canada, Scotland, Netherlands, Norway, Italy and most recently with Neil in Germany.

Neil is a native of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in the west of Scotland. He met Susie met whilst a student at the National Centre for Excellence at Plockton High School. Neil earned his degree in Applied Music at the University of Strathclyde. After a stint in Copenhagen, Neil returned to his roots in the Highlands. He currently performs in and around Inverness with guitarist Ali MacQuarrie. They will release their first duo album in the New Year.
