Jasper de Boor started his studies of violin with Ronda Cole at the age of 3. He is currently co-concertmaster of the American Youth Philharmonic, which he joined in 2014. Since 2015 he has participated in the AYPO Chamber Music program, and he has spent the last six summers playing chamber music at Greenwood Music Camp. He is also a founding member of the Trio Giusto which participated in the 2018 Fischoff Competition. For his solo work, he has won prizes in many competitions; most recently, having won the AYP concerto competition, he played the 3rd movement of the Prokofiev with AYP on June 3, 2018 and he won 1st place in the May 2018 NVMTA String Achievement Award. Jasper also studies piano with Douglas Harrington, plays ultimate frisbee, and works on short films in his spare time. He is currently an 11th grader at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA.
