He received an Artist Diploma from the New England Conservatory, and enjoyed a career as one of Boston\u2019s busiest free-lancers.&nbsp; Joe recently retired after 30 seasons as concertmaster of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, with whom he extensively toured the United States and Japan.&nbsp; Joe appeared on numerous occasions as soloist with the Boston POPS Esplanade Orchestra in Boston\u2019s famous Symphony Hall, including performances of Milhaud\u2019s <em>Cinema Fantaisie<\/em> and the Bruch <em>Scottish Fantasy<\/em> with Keith Lockhart conducting, and the Glazunov <em>Violin Concerto <\/em>under the baton of John Williams.&nbsp; Other concerto appearances include the Beethoven <em>Violin Concerto<\/em> with the Brockton (MA) Symphony, and the <em>Scottish Fantasy<\/em> of Max Bruch with the Newton (MA) Symphony.&nbsp; Joe appeared annually on the POPS\u2019 nationally televised Fourth of July broadcast and was featured as a soloist in that broadcast, performing the violin solo from John Williams\u2019 music for the film <em>Schindler\u2019s List<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1990\u2019s Joe held the concertmaster position of both the Florida Symphony (Orlando), as well as Tampa\u2019s Florida Orchestra.&nbsp; He made frequent solo appearances with both orchestras, performing such diverse works as the Korngold <em>Violin Concerto<\/em>, Vaughan Williams\u2019<em> Lark Ascending<\/em> and the Vieuxtemps<em> Violin Concerto&nbsp; #5. <\/em>&nbsp;He left Florida to join his wife Susan Robinson in Washington, D.C., where she is the principal harpist of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra.&nbsp; Joe and Susan are the founders of IBIS Chamber Music, which has performed many of Joe\u2019s original arrangements including the Gershwin <em>Piano Preludes<\/em>, Ravel\u2019s <em>Mother Goose, <\/em>and John Williams\u2019 music from <em>Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban<\/em>. &nbsp;Joseph also set many songs by singer\/songwriter Dar Williams for both chamber and orchestral settings.<\/p>\n<p>Joe received a violin and a fishing pole for his fifth birthday, sparking a lifelong passion for both.&nbsp; In 2004 he founded the Fishinfiddler Rod Company and now enjoys a second career as a maker of fine, handcrafted split bamboo fly rods.&nbsp; View his work at www.fishinfiddler.com.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Sutherland Earle <\/strong>studied piano and chamber music at the Oberlin Conservatory, Stanford University and the Vienna Hochschule fur Musik. A National Merit and Fulbright Scholar as well as prizewinner at the Pacific International Music Competition, the Carmel Piano Competition and the Palo Alto Symphony Concerto Competition, he has performed around the DC region and in more than a dozen states of the US, several countries of Europe, Russia, and Japan.&nbsp; Since moving to Arlington VA with family Dana, Alex, and Elly in 2010, he has performed with the Friday Morning Music Club, the Rock Creek Chamber Players, the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association, members of the US Army Orchestra, and IBIS Chamber Music.&nbsp; John also serves on the board of IBIS.&nbsp; In a parallel life, John teaches at George Mason University&#8217;s School of Public Policy.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">NOTE: This was NOT a &#8220;normal&#8221; salon<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>It was on Saturday!
