BIOGRAPHY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Violinist Holly Nelson<\/strong> became the concertmaster of the Pan American Symphony Orchestra, a DC-based ensemble dedicated to performing Latin American orchestral repertoire, in 2024. Nelson is frequently featured as a soloist with the ensemble in their Kennedy Center concert series and recently recorded an album of tango violin showpieces with the ensemble due for release in 2025. Other recent concerto engagements include performing Las Cuatro estaciones porte\u00f1as by Astor Piazzolla with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, performing Violin Concerto No. 2 by Florence Price with the Durham Symphony Orchestra in North Carolina, and giving the Maryland premiere of TreeSong for violin and orchestra by John Williams with the John Williams Project Orchestra in Baltimore. Nelson is the recipient of the Peabody Institute of Music\u2019s 2022 Presser Graduate Music Award, and in 2023, she was awarded a Fulbright Research Grant to study tango music performance practice and pedagogy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for nine months. During her grant, she was invited to perform solo violin at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires. Nelson maintains a vibrant private studio at Levine Music, where she teaches both Suzuki and traditional methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winning over 10 competitions, David Steinhardt<\/strong> is the youngest guitarist to place first at the Hamilton International and Great Lakes Guitar Competition. A sought-after performer, Steinhardt has concertized in venues including Merkin and Wigmore Hall and festivals including the Hamilton, Montreal, and Ullapool International Guitar Festivals. Concerto highlights include his debut with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Los Angeles debut of Steve Goss\u2019 A Concerto of Colours with the USC Wind Ensemble. Steinhardt graduated with honors from USC Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of William Kanengiser and Pepe Romero. He went on to earn an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying with Matthew McAllister and Allan Neave before completing his Master of Music from the Yale School of Music under the tutelage of Benjamin Verdery. A passionate educator, he has taught masterclasses for the Connecticut Guitar Festival, Guitar Hamilton, and Guitar San Antonio. Steinhardt is on faculty at Levine Music and summer faculty at the Interlochen Centers for the Arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
