Equally at home in both traditional and contemporary ensembles, clarinetist Zachary West<\/strong> has performed throughout the United States. A devoted chamber musician, he is co-founder of The Horizon Series and has been featured in intimate performances with members of the award-winning Belka and Cavani String Quartets, as well as with the orchestras of Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an orchestral musician, he has performed under the baton of some of the world’s finest conductors, including Jane Glover, Yoel Levi, JahJa Ling, and Robert Spano. In the summer of  2023, Zachary was chosen as one of seven finalists for the ICA Orchestral Audition Competition at the 50th Anniversary International Clarinet Association festival in Denver, Colorado, recognizing those on the cusp of a burgeoning orchestral career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An alumnus of both the Sarasota and Aspen Music Festivals, Zachary received a Master of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Additionally, he holds a Post-Graduate Certificate from the Interlochen Center for the Arts and serves as Assistant Principal and Eb Clarinet in the Capital Wind Symphony in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n

Violinist Patrick Lin<\/strong> was born in Buffalo, NY, and grew up in Fargo, ND, where he began studying violin at the age of 7 with Mary Weisser and Jane Linde Capistran. He continued his studies at The Florida State University (BM 2015) with Dr. Benjamin Sung and the Cleveland Institute of Music (MM 2018) with William Preucil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick currently lives in the Washington, DC region, where he is a member of the U.S. Army Strings. Previously, he lived in Honolulu, HI, where he was a member of the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra and performed with Hawai’i Opera Theatre and Ballet Hawai’i. Patrick has also performed with the Baltimore Symphony, Charleston Symphony, and Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestras and has attended festivals around the country, including the Britt Music and Arts Festival (OR), Lexington Bach Festival (MI), National Repertory Orchestra (CO), and Spoleto Festival USA (SC).<\/p>\n\n\n

Washington DC-based violinist Kate Dreyfuss<\/strong> is an adventurous interpreter of classical and contemporary music who is known for her \u201cuncompromising commitment\u201d and \u201cfearless approach\u201d (Cacophony Magazine) to performance. An active chamber musician, Dreyfuss is a founding member of the violin-clarinet-percussion trio F-PLUS, and is a core member of Contemporaneous, with whom she recently premiered Dylan Mattingly’s opera, Stranger Love, at Disney Hall in Los Angeles. She has also performed as a guest violinist with ETHEL and Hub New Music. Dreyfuss holds Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in violin performance from Stony Brook University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Princeton University. She is the Communications Director at New Music USA, a national non-profit organization dedicated to advancing new music in all its forms.<\/p>\n\n\n

Violist Erica Schwartz<\/strong> is originally from Albany, New York and resides in Arlington, Virginia. She currently serves as a member of the United States Army Strings, and has appeared as a substitute violist with the National, Baltimore, and Houston symphonies, and the Washington National Opera Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erica has appeared at festivals such as the Pacific Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, Kneisel Hall, Bowdoin and the Banff Centre Chamber Music Residency. An avid teacher, Erica currently maintains a private studio in Arlington, VA and serves as a head coach for Crescendo Chamber Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her primary teachers include Roger Tapping, Dimitri Murrath, Ivo-Jan Van der Werff and Joan DerHovsepian. In her free time, Ms. Schwartz enjoys running, lifting weights, reading and trying out new recipes. She holds a B.M. from the New England Conservatory, a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University, and a Masters of Music from Rice University<\/p>\n\n\n

Originally from Los Angeles, Atticus Mellor-Goldman<\/strong> is a cellist with the Air Force Strings, winning his position in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He earned a Bachelor\u2019s degree from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University and a Master\u2019s degree from Yale University. Mellor-Goldman has performed globally and been featured on NPR’s “From the Top” and American Public Media’s “Performance Today.” His string quartet won the Gold Medal at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition’s Junior division in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has played at prestigious venues around the world including Disney Hall, Dresden Opera House, Boston Symphony Hall, and Carnegie Hall. He has performed alongside prominent musicians such as Osmo V\u00e4nsk\u00e4 and Edgar Meyer, and has participated in the Kneisel Hall and the Bowdoin International Music Festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent highlights include the east coast premiere of Reena Esmail\u2019s \u201cWhen the Violin\u201d and the world premiere of Christopher Theofanidis\u2019 Quintet for clarinet and string quartet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
