Biographies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classical violinist, Nusheen Farahani, received her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of South Carolina under the instruction of Dr. William Terwilliger. She performed as a substitute violinist with the South Carolina Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra Augusta, the Aiken Symphony, the Brevard Philharmonic, Long Bay Symphony, and the Spartanburg Philharmonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Nusheen was chosen to perform and teach in the Bahamas for outreach concerts as a member of the distinguished Resonance String Quartet. She has also attended summer programs abroad in Italy, Luxembourg, and Germany to further her chamber music skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More recently, she has come to the Celtic style, studying with Alistair Fraser and Natalie Haas at the Isle of Skye Fiddle Camp in Scotland. Soon after the camp Nusheen won second place in the Scottish Fiddling Competition at the Charleston Scottish Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nusheen currently performs with various Persian groups as well as orchestras in the northern Virginia area, including the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, the Northern Neck Orchestra, and a few more. Chamber music plays a large role in Nusheen\u2019s performance career as she collaborates with musicians in the area to perform yearly chamber concerts, which can include duo to string quartet repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nusheen is also the owner of Studio Muse in Sterling, Virginia and has a bustling violin studio. One of Nusheen\u2019s goals in opening a music studio was to have a space to share many styles of music with the community and to provide a rich environment for students to learn in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born into a performing musical family, Abbie was playing harp on stages and in recording studios by age 11. As a DC Metropolitan area native, she has been employed and performed at many medical sites and performance venues within the national capital region. In 2010 she received degrees in music therapy and performance from Shenandoah Conservatory, and since then has explored an extensive array of possible outlets as a person living a life dedicated to music.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a harpist, Abbie has managed to span an incredibly wide range of genres in her collaborations, performances, and recordings. While specializing in original, Celtic, and Classical music, Abbie also has experience performing and recording rock and pop, spiritual and religious, World, jazz, hip hop, new age, and Renaissance, to name a few!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abbie went on to focus on Classical music in college and received a dual degree in Classical harp performance, gaining skills and knowledge as an orchestral harpist. Upon completion of her degree, Abbie received an award of recognition for excelled accomplishment in her harp studies. Abbie held the role of first chair with the National String Symphonia for 7 years and had the honor of performing Debussys’ Danses Sacree et Profane, a harp featured piece, on a main stage at the Kennedy Center. She now regularly performs with Classical ensembles and orchestras in Washington DC and surrounding areas.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
