A Night of Sibelius!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sibelius like you\u2019ve never heard before! Nusheen and Ilona will explore Sibelius\u2019 later chamber music works that were written around World War 1. As Finland was declaring its independence from Russia, Sibelius was credited with having given a unified sound to Finland. Through his smaller, more intimate chamber works, Nusheen and Ilona will delve into what elements of Sibelius\u2019 music was so unique for its time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biographies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nusheen Farahani<\/strong>, violinist, received her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of South Carolina under the instruction of Dr. William Terwilliger. During her studies she performed as a substitute violinist with the South Carolina Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra Augusta, the Aiken Symphony, the Brevard Philharmonic, Long Bay Symphony and the Spartanburg Philharmonic. During that time she began venturing into the Celtic style of playing and continues to do so today, participating in Scottish Fiddling Competitions. Nusheen currently resides in the DMV area performing with various orchestras and maintaining a full violin studio in Sterling, Virginia at Studio Muse Music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pianist and Studio Muse accompanist, Ilona Skublickas<\/strong>, received her degree in Music Performance from Lithuania. Having performed with various groups and ensembles abroad, Ilona brings a fresh outlook to every piece she performs, whether it is with young children or professionals. Each one of the students at Studio Muse that get a chance to work with her always blossom under her guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
