Biography
Merzana Kostreci is an accomplished, classically trained pianist who has performed in Europe, and in several U.S. cities. After winning several national competitions in her native Albania, she was selected to attend the University of Music in Cologne, Germany, at sixteen years old. During her studies, she participated in numerous master classes, as well as a semester study at the National Superior Conservatory of Music & Dance of Paris, France. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance in 2003.
Merzana has performed as a soloist with orchestra in Serbia, Germany, and Sweden, and as a chamber musician in Germany, France, and the U.S. She has participated in international competitions in California, Connecticut, United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany. Since moving to the Washington D.C. area, Merzana has held solo recitals at the State Department, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, and at the Katzen Arts Center. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Maryland.
