Salon 2015-09-20 “Erica Dicker & Walden School Fundraiser”

On September 20, 2015:

AN UNUSUAL SALON — SEE NOTES AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE!!

A fundraiser for the Walden School in Dublin, New Hampshire Summer Music Program for young people. It encourages composition as well as performance. This is an offshoot of the Junior Conservatory camp in Vermont that Jackie attended for 7 years.

Violinist Erica Dicker works in a wide variety of musical settings, spanning
bridges between worlds of orchestral performance and experimental
improvisation. She regularly contributes her talents to orchestras across
the United States. Ms. Dicker earned degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory
of Music, the University of Minnesota, and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.

PROGRAM:

“I will be playing, for sure:
– a Passacaglia by Biber (NOT Justin 🙂 but Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber!…)
– Some of Prokofiev’s solo sonata for solo violin opus 115 in D major (I’ll figure out what movement shortly)
– Soliloquy (by Walden student Will Hawkins)
[Also maybe a Nocturne by Kaija Saariaho and/or a movement of a solo sonata
by Irwin Schulhoff/and or one of my own solo pieces… Will let you know as soon as I get decisive!…]”

The Music starts at 5:30 — please arrive between 5:00 and 5:30. THIS EVENT IS CATERED — No need to bring wine or food. Donations are welcome (make checks payable to Jackie Anderson.)
