Kari Paludan and Nikola Paskalov
Kari and Nikola are delighted to return to Emerson Avenue Salon to share new and existing music from Transforming Ophelia. This performance will feature three new pieces from Nikola’s grandfather, Nikola Glassl, as well as performances of Brahms’ Ophelia Lieder , R. Strauss’ Drei Lieder Der Ophelia, music from Liszt’s 3 Sonetti del Petrarca song cycle and solo piano music of Scriabin and Brahms among others.
Soprano, Karin Paludan, has performed with the New York City Opera National Company, the Utah Festival Opera, the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, at the Kennedy Center, the National Gallery and the Library of Congress and has toured the US with Community Concerts. Pianist, Nikola Paskalov, has performed with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radio, at the Kennedy Center, “St. Martin-in-the-Fields” in London and at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Their newly formed vocal piano duo, Paludan-Paskalov, was born from the desire to celebrate and share the best possible live, classical, collaborative performance experience and the power, joy and connection that music can bring – to audience and performers alike.
